The vision of United Methodist Women (UMW) is to turn faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world.

At Rome First, we have a large and very active unit of UMW.  Each year members undertake programs of study and action, with particular attention to mission and justice.

Recent projects include: cleaning the kitchen at Hospitality House (HH), renovating a Family Cottage at Murphy-Harpst Children's Center (MHCC), collecting food for Rome Action Ministries(RAM), collecting children's books for HH and MHCC, collecting school supplies for MHCC, making prayer shawls, assembling health and layette kits for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), and promoting / using Fair Trade Products.  (Click here for more information on Fair Trade products.)

Members support the local and global church with their prayers, participation, and leadership.  There is also an opportunity to be involved in a small group or circle, which commonly support mission activities in which it is particularly interested.  The unit supports United Methodist global mission work, including mission institutions, projects, and missionaries.
