UMW Small Groups
There are several active small groups with the Rome First UMC unit of UMW. These include:
Circle 7: This group meets on the second Monday morning of each month for fellowship and a spiritual growth discussion from September - June. They meet at 10:30am in room A-203.
Mary-Martha Group: They meet on the second Monday of the month in room A-205 at 7:15pm. This group usually does a mission study or a book from the UMW Reading Program. In August and December, the group had dinner meetings and includes spouses. The group is currently studying: For the Love of God: The Epistles of John.
Morning Glories: This group meets on the fourth Monday of the month in the Youth Lounge at 10:30am between September and May. They meet for fellowship and spiritual growth and are currently studying For the Love of God: The Epistles of John. The group frequently has lunch together after their meeting.
Knitting Group: This group meets on the second Thursday of each month in room A-203 at 10:00am. They knit prayer shawls, baby sweaters, and other ministry items. They are guided by the book Knitting into the Mystery: a Guide to the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Spiritual Growth Study Group: They meet on the first Thursday of each month for an in-depth study of a book from the Reading Program. Currently, the group is studying Longing for Enough in a Culture of More. This group meets in a member's home at 10:00am.
