Rome First School

KinderKids Room Welcome

Dear Parents,

It is my hope that you are having a relaxing fun-filled summer and are spending some great family time together with your child.

After 30 wonderful years at West End Elementary School (25 of those in Kindergarten), I am thrilled to be a part of a preschool program that has an outstanding reputation.  This job allows me to continue to do the work I dearly love.

I began the “Job of My Dreams” at Rome First School three years ago.  Not only is the staff supportive, but also the families are amazing.

I am a native Roman, married to Bruce Holdbrooks, also a native Roman.  We have a son, Brice, who is currently a student at Georgia Highlands. We are active members of Rome First United Methodist Church.

I am extremely fortunate t have an exceptional teaching assistant.  Linda Barlow and I have spent many years together as a kindergarten team while at West End.  She brings many years of experience, as well as a real sense of working well with children.  She is married to Tommy and has a grown daughter, Courtney Gribble.

I feel that this is the opportunity of a lifetime for us as well as the students.  Your child will be educated in a Christian environment, where learning is fun and exciting.  I get totally overwhelmed when I think about the possibilities of what can be done with a small class size and excellent staff support.  I have amazing expectations for this class!!

Please plan to attend Orientation on Thursday, August 11th at 10:00 am in the Wilder Center.  Gina Loveman, the preschool director will conduct a brief meeting to discuss preschool procedure, curriculum, class schedules, and volunteer opportunities.  Please arrive a few minutes early and bring your child to the classroom during the meeting.  The Kinderkid classroom is on the third floor.  The first day of school is Monday, August 15th from 9:00-1:00.  Don’t forget to send lunch.
