Disciple 1
Facilitator: Ray Harris
Begins September 10th

A 34-week long study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, aiming at transformation, not just information, and challenges participants to be changed by the Scriptures. The titles of the sessions, along with theme words, theme verses, and major persons, events, and topics will set the sequence of the biblical story in the minds of the participants.

Jesus in the Gospels
Facilitator: Bob Young
Begins September 10th
A 30-week study that focuses on the portraits of Jesus found in the four Gospels--Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This study looks at the way each Gospel writer presents events and teachings and at the picture of Jesus that emerges in each of the Gospels.

Beginnings: An Introduction to Christian Faith
Facilitator: Jim Lanier
Begins September 10th
A 12-week small-group study about basic Christian beliefs. It is designed as a small-group experience where people can ask questions about the Christian faith, explore their walk with God, and form or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and Christian community.

Seed Planting: Witness as Relationship
Facilitator: Geoff McElroy
Begins September 10th
In this 4-week study, participants will engage what it means to be a witness, why we witness, and begin exploring how they can be a positive witness to the good news of God's kingdom by focusing on building authentic relationships modeled after Jesus' own ministry as we learn how to plant seeds for God to water and grow.

The Face of the Poor in Floyd County
Facilitators: Jackie Harrison and Cathy Aiken-Freeman
Begins October 8th
Rome First UMC engages in many facets of ministry with the poor in our community, but we are only part of a larger picture. In this class, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the realities of life for the poor here in Floyd County and what the community is trying to do to address those issues.

Reclaiming the Wesleyan Tradition
Facilitator: Jane Brooks
Begins September 10th
This accessible 13-week program presents the central themes of John Wesley's theology of salvation in ways that bridge an intellectual study of his sermons with relevant application to participants' lives and faith.
