Rome First Chancel Choir
Directed by Dr. Paul Neal, the choir lends their talents to the traditional worship service at 11am in the historic sanctuary. They sing hymns, glorious anthems and are accompanied by the historic organ and grand piano. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. If you are interested in being a part of the Chancel Choir, please contact Paul Neal
It is that time of the year, as the children head back to school and college football is just around the corner. Traditional Music Ministries at Rome First has great plans for the fall and we want you to join us! What a great time for you to get involved musically in worship at Rome First.
Adult Choir begins August 1 with regular rehearsal at 7 pm. Lots of great music planned as well as a major work for the Advent season. If you have ever been interested in singing, please join us! No audition necessary and it would be a great time to check out what God is doing in our choir.
Handbell Choir begins September 5 with regular rehearsal starting at 5:45 pm. If you have ever wanted to play the handbells, this would be a great time to start! Basic music-reading skills are needed, but previous handbell experience is not required. Come join us!
Combined Churches present Downtown Hymn Sing on Sunday,
September 16 - Come join the congregations of First Baptist, First Methodist and St. Peter's Episcopal as we combine our choirs to present a downtown service celebrating the great hymns of faith. Join us as we sing such familiar hymns as Holy, Holy, Holy, How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace. We expect a large crowd! Service begins at 3 pm at First Baptist Church.
Kid's Sing begins October 21 - We are busy making plans for the first rehearsal with our children. We will have our first rehearsal in the choir room on October 21 at 4 pm with plans for them to sing in the 11 am worship service on December 2. What a wonderful opportunity to guide the children of Rome First in music as they have the chance to be actively involved and lead worship! We look forward to all the beautiful music we are going to make! Parents, contact Paul Neal at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
More ensembles involved more often - We are looking for new ensembles and new ways to plug our church members into leading worship at Rome First UMC. If you sing or play an instrument, we want you involved! Maybe you have a theatrical side? I would like to add some Christian dramatic readings to enhance our Sunday morning services. No matter your age or ability, we have a way for you to participate in worship. If you want to participate, let me hear from you! Send me an email toPaul Neal.
I am excited what the Lord has in store for the traditional music and worship arts at Rome First UMC. There is a place for you to share your gifts. No gift is too small! Come join us!
